Finished LA Marathon - 5 Days 17 Hours 42 Minutes
In an attempt to get healthy for Spring and find creative new ways to meet athletic women, the FlyMaster entered the LA Marathon. The Marathon started on Sunday March 2, and the majority of folks finished a few hours later. Yours truly just finished early this afternoon, clocking a personal best 5 Days 17 Hours and 42 Minutes. Talk about exhaustion. Unfortunately, the only person who greeted the FlyMaster was a homeless guy sporting a crown of thorns and some suspiciously urine-odored "gatorade." Thanks to everyone who supported me.

Lunar Ecplise
Maybe the stars were lined up just right - or the price of gas was not as irritatingly high this week. However and whatever happen- I am thankful. The people came out and 27juncture was in full effect.
Last night's class was the Cobb Salad of dance classes. Good for you, hearty and a little bit decadent (this analogy does not work for my vegetarian friends - but you get the idea). The woman - the men sadly did not have representation - danced with such attack and grace that the goose bumps on my arms vibrated with pure joy. A series of movements/moments compiled together to experience something Kinetic. Something real. Something tangible.
And then just like that it's over and we all go home. And that is the wonderful part, together we made that......... that thing. It was real, it will happen again so its okay to let it go.
Ahhh!

Well, the rains are back, but I do hope you had an opportunity to check out the full moon lunar eclipse on Wednesday night! It was spectacular, bringing in high energy ad making me thankful for the ability to move.
We are back in the studio this Saturday at 1:30 at Shakti's elements. If you did not make it last weekend, you missed a real treat! Christophe brought an orchestra with him! They had a good time and I danced maybe a little harder than I should've!
Please come on out and have some fun with us, bring 2 others with you and you come in for $2 off! Spread the word! I am so grateful for your support and will soon launch a series card and make some adjustments to the drop in rate to move us further along in this great exploration.
And now, for things on my radar:
This is a HUGE dance weekend in the LA area. Here are a few that I know about. Got more? E-mail me and let me know.
If you are looking for something to do, check out the REDCAT for an interesting show.

Diana Szeinblum: Alaska
Fiercely sensuous, alluring, and brimming with dark humor, the latest work from award-winning, Pina Bausch-trained, Argentine choreographer Diana Szeinblum combines a custom-crafted language of expressive movement with a swirling live score and stark theatrical staging. The Los Angeles premiere of this anticipated piece is presented in partnership with Skirball Cultural Center's Viva! Series and explores the revolving relationship among four characters as they passionately confront their desires.

Thursday, February 7, 2008
Every Thursday afternoon I have a little anxiety attack. Nothing to get my knickers in a bunch - but just enough to have to remind myself to take a deep breath.
Is anyone going to come to my class tonight?
Man, I just want to dance so can someone please just give me an hour and a half of their time? Damn people, it's not like I'm asking for .. .. .. ..
Fuck it, not like anyone is listening.

Looking fo r a little inspriartion!
It was 10am this morning and I had already lost my (inner) temper, "Gotta pick up film," "Need to call Linda back," " I hope there is money in account; I need to get gas." As I drove past Eagle Rock HS I saw 8 students jumping the fence. You could hear the joyous cries of there one-size-too small jeans shouting, "we're free: now show us off to the world!"
In envied their freedom, the same freedom I think we barter with once the usage of insurance, health care, and 403B becomes a part of your vocab. Nonetheless, those 8 truants were my inpiration for today! Don't look back and certainly don't take small steps - go rigth through the mother fucker & do it with a beautiful smile on your face! Thanks ER folks.
Opps. I never did call back Linda.
